Shorts or not?

Whether or not it is appropriate to wear shorts in the city is ultimately up to the wearer. The decision lies more in the occasion. If you are having a business lunch that you know in advance is formal, you should choose long trousers. If, on the other hand, you are going to visit the city, have an ice cream and stroll in the park on a hot summer day, a pair of shorts is just right. Shorter swimming trunks are also useful in these situations. Opt for midnight blue or beige shorts, with a length that ends just above the knee (sometimes a centimetre shorter depending on the wearer) and in a cotton or linen. Also, consider the width of the shorts. You do not want to walk around with a pair of reinforced boxer shorts. The shorts should be able to match your upper body proportions and be comfortable to walk in, without making your thighs feel trapped.
